Just as a reminder for those going to Mexicali. Their commitment money, 3 APU forms, passport (or other photo ID), and 15 Aunt Polly letters to the Mexicali Meeting on Jan. 11th. Also Sr. High Springhill is coming up in a few weeks. We need the final payment from those who haven’t paid yet. See you guys soon!

Coming up soon are the Springhill! Camps Retreats for Highschoolers and Jr. High. Also coming up is Camp Arcadia. Although it is in June spots fill up VERY quickly. So get your registration forms from either the Forms and Brochures section of our website or at www.camp-arcadia.com. While I’m at it, we’re working on getting the calendars for the youth group onto Google Calendar. You may have recieved an invitation to view that calendar. If you did that’s great, but for those who didn’t we’re working on getting a link for the calendar itself. Hope you all had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We’re going to get T-Shirts for Area 12:2 Teen Nite. We need a design though. If you have a design email it to us or turn it in at Teen Nite to Tristan or Dave. The design should include elements such as: Area 12:2, the Bible verse Romans 12:2, the Area 12:2 logo(which will be available for download next Sunday), the Living Stones, etc. Thanks everyone! A few events are coming up here in the month of October one of which is the Annual Hayride and Bonfire at the Putman’s this will take place on October 5th. We will be providing directions at the Teen Nite the week or two before. You can also email us at oslteens@area12-2.org for directions. Another event is the Mexicali 2009 Kickoff Meeting. This will be held at the Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Birmingham on October 5th at noon. Also a heads up that Teen Nite is started up again and that the next Sr. High Teen Nite will be today and next Sunday from 7-9pm and the next Jr. High Teen Nite will be on Tuesday the 23rd from 7-8:30pm. Springhill dates are here! Next year the Highschoolers will be going in January from the 16th-the 19th, and the Junior High group will be going in March from the 6th to the 8th. It is an awesome spiritual and social experience for everyone. You get to meet tons of new people and go to group sessions with your youth group and share your faith. Plus the whole place is tuned for teens. They’ve got a snowboarding and tubing hill, an indoor pool, a climbing wall, basketball courts, and a giant swing and trampoline! Even better the meals are All You Can Eat!

Last year Attaboy came to Our Shepherd and led our church service, then afterwards they put on an amazing concert for everyone. There is no age limit and everyone is welcome. The concert is on December 6th at 7:15PM directly after the service in the sanctuary. After the concert there is time to meet the band, get autographs and pictures, and buy some t-shirts and such. We’d love to have you there because it is a truly awesome experience!

It may seem like nothing is going on over the summer, but we at Area 12:2 are busy getting ready for the fall.  Can you believe it?  Only 52 days until we are back in full swing!  High School Teen Night will start on Sunday, September 7 and Jr. High Teen Night will start on Tuesday, September 9.  If you can’t wait that long to see all of your old friends, join us every Sunday at 9:30am in the Teen Room for free food and a great Bible study.  Enjoy your summer, and don’t forget to stay in the Word.  -Dave
